Pit Bull bans...WTF?

The ONLY dogs I have ever been bitten by in "public" were a pekapoo and a scottie. I needed medical treatment for the pekapoo bit. I had to shake the d**n think off my hand. I had a paper route as a kid. The big dogs were fine. THere was also a killer cocker spaniel in the neighborhood, but since I babysat the kids at the house, I never had problems with it.

SO..if we're muzzling dogs in public...let's muzzle them all. I'm almost 50 and still have scars from that peekapoo!!

There is no reasonable benchmark. Again, why should I have to muzzle my perfectly behaved (in public :joke: ) malamute while my (theoretical) neighbor can walk his snarling, snapping, and lunging JRT with out one? Why is that fair? It's discrimination no matter how you put it.

If you want to do something like this, why not have all dogs who have not passed some kind of temperment test muzzled.... THAT would make more sense... but then the question arises, what If I can't afford to go do something like the CGC or don't have a place that does it close enough?

Too funny, Chill!!!! OK..that makes this a political related thread. My dog can chew George W!! :dog: ANd MIchael Moore.
ANd to add religion...there is a Jewish dog toy....
How do you know if your dog is Jewish??? Maybe I've been mistreating my dogs by not keeping a kosher kitchen  And probably many other crimes...oh the humanity!! :D

Life isnt fair Puma...A 17 lb jack isnt going to kill you, nor give you an injury that requires a hundred stitches, no matter how snotty its acting....I can see this thread has way outlasted its usefulness...Keep breeding whatever dogs you like...Just dont be mad when you end up in jail for 6 months and get a 10K fine..Long over due for those idiots that refuse to control their viscious dogs, no matter what breed...I have given up on trying to give a quick and dirty on animal husbandry...Generations of dogs selected and bred for their poor temperment will not be turned around in a few generations.....When one of these little darlings decides that their "bred in the bone" temperment should rear it head, the consequences can be lethal...

Generations of dogs selected and bred for their poor temperment

I would like to know where this is happening large scale. As already stated, even fighting rings don't like people aggressive dogs... BYB do breed poor tempermented dogs often, but not on perpose.

As far as I know, everyone on this thread has agreed on properly keeping dogs first and foremost... I don't think that's an issue.

Life isnt fair Puma...

Nobody said it was... I know I didn't. The comment would have to be turned back around that you'll have to deal with dogs over 20lbs without muzzles. Muzzles are a poor excuse not to understand dog behavior or to avoid educating people on a subject that should be common sense.Only proven dangerous dogs should have to wear them. The dog that passes the CGC and has obedience titles should not be force to wear one.

I agree though, the thread has worn out its usefullness.

This sounds like a good reason not to register your dog. Big brother is watching too close. Politicians on both sides are down right corrupt. We really need a third party.

Well, now that Bob Brutus has weighed in on the matter...i think we're done!
