Pitcus????

I just bought a new Pitcus Catfish from the LFS. He seems to be going crazy, just swimming up against the glass, he has not settled down sice I put him in the tank last night. Any thoughts to his behavier?

This is usually a sign of stress with pictus. It could just be an acclimation issue, or it could be something more serious. Look very very closely for ich, Pictus are highly prone to ich, and it is close to impossible to spot ich on a fast moving whitish catfish. I have literally watched pictus for hours and then suddenly realised they were covered in white spots.

Aside from ich, Does he have hiding spaces to get out of the light? Pictus are Predominantly noctournal, and like to have a shady cave or area to lounge in when the lights are on. If they do not have a comfortable hiding place they will generally never settle down in a tank.
Other water parrameters may help as well as anything you might be adding to the tank chemical wise.
