plan for my tank stand. What do you think ?

so just a little update, we're starting to build the stand. Ended up going with the first design, a little modified though.. basically, the tank edges will now be directly supported by the vertical 1" strips of wood. I'm getting a different sump which will allow me to do this.

I'll take pics as it progresses.

Thanks again, for all the advice.

that's true, but I have the cabinets on the side of the stand. It shouldn't be hard to access the sump from the front though, because I don't have a supporting vertical wood in the center, so it's all clear when the doors are open.

So here she is. In pieces, not stained or lacquered. I'll take pics as the project progresses. not much to see here, but i still thought i'd post it up . . . It's made of Maple vaneered presswood, and it'll be stained a dark walnut color.

so the build is almost finished. Just gotta get the doors installed, and the counter screwed on. Clean it up a bit, and we're done!

What i like about this tank is that when both middle doors are open, I'll have full access to the sump without any obstructions in the middle.

I'll take a final picture when it's cleaned up and fully installed.
