Or, if you go FOWLR, I guess you could just throw some pot scrubbers in the Eheim pending purchase of enough LR to provide SA for enough bacterial to cover your fish load (fluidized potscrubber filtration?).

I meant to say I plan on going FOWLR. May I ask what are potscrubbers and what does SA stand for?

Those $1/bag all nylon pot scrubbers (no metal ring variety preferred - don't want the metal rings) provide a ton of Surface Area for de-nitrifying bacteria. Many have used them in sumps.
