Plant advice please

Yeah I would say it would be easier to achieve a contrast, due to those 4 extra inches of height, plus you wouldnt need as many plants to fill a smaller foot print either.

Yea go Pacers and Colts!
I do have a 30" all glass aquarium fluorescent light, how would i turn it into a double strip light?

I've posted this in other threads, maybe I should just make a thread for easy reference. LOL

If your up to it, go to Home Depot, Menards, or Lowes.
Get a cheap can of white high gloss spray paint.
4 - Porcelain light sockets with leads and the 'L' shaped attached bracket. (these are cheaper than the plastic ones)
Small package of wire connectors
4 Pack of 14 watt, daylight spiral CF's

Take your light strip, remove the bulb and cut the cord off about 6"-9" behind the housing.
Unscrew the plastic housing and transformer, -save the screws-.
Paint the inside of the housing white
Attach the sockets to the existing standoffs with the screws you saved
Wire it up, white to white/black to black- You will need a little more wire form that power cord.
Screw in the bulbs and your done.
2.8wpg for under $20

yea you should make a thread lol
does the white gloss paint inside act as a reflector kinda?
hopefully the wiring will be easier when im actually doing it because i have a little trouble following your instructions but i dont have the parts in front of me.
Also do you have the fixture perched above your tank to allow full lighting of the tank? because thats what i think im going to do either perch it or hang it somehow.
Does the fixture ever get too hot?

It's a cheap way to go. Yes, the white serves as a ghetto reflector.
Can be set right on a versa top or used with the perfecto/AGA plastic hood.
I threw this together as a temporary thing.
But given the fact that I haven't gotten or decided on which slow growers I want in there yet, it's still there.
