plant attachment question

if you tie it on with a piece of cotton string it will be on by the time the string deteoriates :D

I'm not a seamstress :D
When I got married my husbands father gave me a stocked antique sewing box that his mother had given him- it looks old enough to have come over from Ireland with the original bunch of 'em. Lots of black thread.

At any rate I spent the greater part on an afternoon "sewing" java ferns, boblitis, anubias etc to three pieces of driftwood. I worked my little heart out arranging them in a most artistic and perfectly designed display.
They were all floating when I came in the next day.
Enter fishing line.
 
I used some seemingly "normal" black thread (nothing spectacular) and after more than 3 months some of it is still holding firm! Actually, I don't think any of it has broken yet.:confused:
