Plant ID Wanted

I think the carpet plants are Glossostigma elatinoides. The white tips you are talking about are bubbles formed due to oversaturation of oxygen. The process is called pearling.:)

Looks like riccia to me. Never seen glosso have those bubbles like that. It's just riccia tied down to a mat or something. http://www.petfrd.com/forum/articles.php?action=viewarticle&artid=8

Thanks for that link, and to the others as well.

The plant looks really neat with the pearling, but it sounds a bit tricky to get it in place in a tank. Since I'm just starting (waiting for some things to get here in the mail, even) my first planted tank, I think I'm going to keep looking for something a bit easier for the foreground.

I like the look of HC and I think I may just put in a small order of it to see how it does in my tank and if I have success maybe either just grow it out or order more.

The easiest forground plant to grow IMO is dwarf sag and should do ok with lower light. most forground plants are going to require high light.

I've been reading different things on different forums. I'd like to grow some form of carpet effect in my 55, but a lot seems to be high requirement. I'd appreciate some insight. Is Riccia capable to grop in low light or is more required? I love the look of it in a planted tank.
Riccia is a high lighting plant I believe. Stick with dwarf sags.
