well i posted a thread like this about new plants that got from Petco's assorted tropical plants tank back in June. i got some answers to what they could be, but nothign clear. i had no idea what they were, just that it was three different types. one type ended up dying, probably because of the lack of lighting for it, but the other two has continued to survive very nicely. although i've always said i was going to upgrade my 15watt strip light to a twin tube 30watt set up, i never did. since then, all i've done is planted them correctly, dosed with liquid ferts and thats about it.

heres a picture of plant one, same picture i took back in June for the older thread:

they also told me to take pictures of the roots for better identification, so i did:

heres a picture of plant two:

a final identification would be nice. i checked the pictures everywhere, none seem to really match what i have. thanks.

I agree plant 1 is some kind of sword with maybe emmersed leaf form. Does the new grow still look like the pics? The long leaf stalks & rounded leaves make me think it might be. Plant 2 is an anubias, frazerii maybe, I have 1 similar at ~5inches & 1 10-12 inches but I don't know if they are the same variety.

Plant one is some type of sword. Hard to say which since those leaves are emersed and not submersed growth. Post some more pics of it when it starts producing new leaves in your tank. If the leaves are red, probably a red melon sword.

Plant two looks like an Anubias barteri v. glabra AKA Anubias lanceolata. Be sure not to bury the rhizome when planting.

Plant 1 is E. bleheri emerged growth. Put it in your tank and after a few weeks the leaves that grow in will be longer and narrower.
My biggest pet peeve in this hobby is so many growers grow (imagine that!) and sell and advertise emerged growth swords! It's akin to false advertising in my mind and really  me up! Oh yeah, great! Emerged form would be perfect...for my palaudrium!!!! But it's an aquarium!

Plant 2 does look like Anubia afzelii.

I agree with beviking, though #2 may be a frazieri.
