Plant Newbie - A year later

Very nice tank! It's interesting to hear that you don't fertilize or add CO2 and yet your plants look great and have no signs of algae.

What's your water change schedule? I'm guessing that has a lot to do with the plants getting their nutrients. Do you use gravel fertilizers at all?

edit: oh by the way, I really like the java fern on the right side. That's a dense clump of it! I think all you need is a a little height from the background plants and you will be in good shape.

Yeah, my main goal is to grow out the back of the tank again. It's funny how many times a tank can change in a year.

I do fertilize. I just don't fertilize a lot. Here's what I do:

75% water change every 1-2 weeks (usually 2 weeks)
Ferts are added after the change
No need to add nitrates
1 tsp of Nu-Salt
About 20 drops of Fleet Enema
1 large cap of Flourish (2 liter bottle)
Recommended dose of Flourish Excel

I'm starting to go with another dose of Nu-Salt in between water changes. I'm seeing some pinholes in some of the leaves, and according to what I've read that could be from low amounts of Potassium.
