Plant Propugation

Hello everyone,
I would like to propugate my ludwigia, and I am not sure how. Is there a certain place i need to trim the plant from? How do I know if i have trimmed enough or in the correct place? is there different ways to trim different plants? Thank you in advance for your assistance

I always just snipped the stem at the height i wanted it when pruning and put the cutting in the substrate. It grew fine from there..
