Plant question

I'm going to be planting my 20 gal. tank soon and i was wondering if there is anything special i have to do for for just the plants in the tank?! i was thinking about buying this little gadget that is supposed to be good for them somehow but any advise would probably be nice to have before i do buy them.

Gadget? That begs clarification. As far as what you need to do for plants, that depends on the plants. What are you thinking about? If you don't want to change a lot than java fern, java moss, anubias, and marimo would all be good choices. They can all do rather well with little to no special care. (each has it's own needs, but they are minimal)

I know java fern is really nice but i have no idea what it looks like, ill Google it, anyways the plants are for a butterfly ram so anything that they enjoy is what im going for. I like Anarchist but i do not know if they like it!

Anacharis is easy to grow. Some would call it a weed. Most fish don't care what plants are with them. I don't know for sure about the butterfly ram. Usually, the only thing that you have to watch out for is getting plants that your fish will eat or uproot.

Rams will appreciate any plants, real or fake that you put in the tank. If you get live plants you will need low light plants, as Hebily mentioned. www.plantgeek.net has lists of plants according to various factors, including lighting.

ya know this question was originally in the newbie freshwater forums hahaha so please excuse my typos! at least i know how to spell it now thank you! i think i like the weed look and i had planned on putting some java fern in my Betta's 10 gal.

Its at petsmart i have no idea what its called haha! ill look into as soon as i get home from being out of town! It looked liked a filter but i guess its not, it apparently has something to do with co2 or something, as soon as i figure the name out ill let you guys know

Yea it definitely had something to do with Co2, the people at pet smart said the devise is good for live plants.. i am slowly thinking they really don't care about what i say half the time i come in here ever since they let me buy 20 fish for a tank i told them i just set up...

Lol. Anarchist was just funny, because it has a totally different meaning, yet seems to fit with the plant. Anacharis just seems chaotic, so calling it Anarchist was funny.
