Anubias afzelli - $10 each
6 plants available measuring 10-12 inches tall with 3-6 leaves per rhizome. Requires low-medium light, grows slow. This is a great aquarium plant because it's strong and easy to grow. Has wide upright green leaves is a good addition to any aquarium. Native to West Africa, Anubias afzelii is a striking midground/background plant.
Aponogeton boivinianus - $5 each
2 bulbs available with active growth. Bulb plant, med-high light, grows fast, medium difficulty. Has wide heavily puckered, kelly green leaves. Aponogeton boivinianus is a large plant which forms huge bullated leaves. The oldest leaves are deep dark-green, while younger leaves are light-green and sometimes brownish until they are fully developed. It is naturally found in fast-flowing water, and it prefers a current in the aquarium.
Aponogeton madagascariensis (Madagascar Lace Plant) - $5 each
2 large bulbs available with active growth. Bulb plant, lighting from low to high, fast growing. Naturally found in fast-flowing water and prefers a current in the aquarium - best placement in the background, near your intake tube. Long leaves.
Aponogeton ulvaceous - $5 each
2 bulbs available with active growth. Bulb plant, medium-high light, fast growth, medium care. This is an exceptionally beautiful species. Large plant with very wide wavy edged leaves in a bright lime green color. This plant comes from Madagascar, and is happiest in a strong water flow. A single root can produce more than 40 leaves. Relatively undemanding and thrives in both soft and hard water.
Crinum calamistrium - $8 each
2 plants available. Bulb plant - medium to high light, slow growing. Has dark green and slim leaves. Crinum calamistratum is easier to place in an aquarium as it forms smaller bulbs than the other Crinum species. Attractive plant has few demands except for a rich substrate (or use root tabs) and a little more light. Under good conditions, small bulbs are formed and these can grow into new plants. This plant is avoided by herbivorous fishes.
Crinum natans - $8 each
2 available. Bulb plant - low to high light, slow growing, easy care. Very beautiful and graceful bulbous plant with dark-green leaves. It must be planted such that the top 2/3 of the bulb is visible. Plants vary slightly in leaf width and the shape of the leaf margin.
Cryptocoryne beckettii 'petchii' (aka Micro Crypt) - $3.50 each
6 plants available. Rhizome structure plant from Sri Lanka, known for it's reddish-brown leaves and small size. Requires low-medium light, grows slow, easy care. "Petchii" is a smaller variety of Cryptocoryne beckettii and is equally undemanding. Propagates via runners. Given time, this crypt forms compact growth - most suitable for midground use. Prefers to be shaded in brightly lit tanks.
Echinodorus 'Red Flame' sword plant - $9 each
2 plants available. Rosette structure sword plant. Has intense dark red spots on its reddish-brown leaves but older leaves will gradually turn a more shiny green. Undemanding, medium-high lighting, medium growth rate, easy care. As with other sword plants, grow in a rich substrate or supplement feeding with root tabs. This is a beautiful variety of Echinodorus "Ozelot" and was cultivated at the Hans Barth Dessau aquarium plant nursery in Germany.
