I guess this is a combination post where I'll pat myself on the back and say thanks to the forum for the valuable information that led to some nice looking plants in my 55 gal. I never had any luck with Amazon Swords and am happy to report I've got them growing robustly, with nice green foliage etc. I'll credit the use decent lighting, pressurized CO2, and judicious use of ferts. The best part is I'm finally winning the war on algae. I'm guessing the plants are FINALLY outcompeting the algae for nutrients. Thanks for looking.

Looks good!!

Looks like you have some healthy swords there. Are you using root tabs to fertilize them or just dosing the water column?

In addition to the CO2 I'm using root tabs (but I'm following advice to use them only once every three months or so). The brand is: Seachem Flourish Tabs. I push one into the gravel to fertilize a few of the plants as they cover a "radius" of 5-6 inches of substrate space.

I am getting the Seachem Flourish Tabs next week for my 55g goldfish planted tank. Should I use the directions on the box?
