Plant suggestions.

I liked the plain green too.

Now the last 2 plants.

I have decided on the creeping ficus for the back wall and to cover my driftwood.
For a carpet. The S. kraussiana.

And now for the two showy plants. One thats tall (10") and one thats relatively short (3-4"). I would like them to have some color to them other than your typical varigation. I'll look real quick and post some ideas.

Thanks for all the help so far, and don't stop the suggestions.

How about red-veined prayer plant (Maranta leuconeura erythroneura) for the taller plant? They don't like to be repotted, so just bury the pot. Should do well in a moist, low-light setup. For the smaller, maybe Ruby Earthstar (Cryptanthus bivittatus Ruby). Earthstars don't like super wet soil, but you could put one in a small pot and set it on top of the soil, then hide the pot with decor or the Selaginella.

The Pilea is nice. I didn't see a specific size listed for that Alocasia. The text says it's 'small', but since most Alocasia are quite large (often three feet or taller) that doesn't mean much. And since it's got basal leaves, you can't train it to a smaller size like you can with a bushy plant. Just some thoughts.

Thats what I thought about the Alacosia too. I have noticed that about basal plants and their quest for larger leaves every time. Maybe I could still get it for a house plant though. Do you think that would do well in your average home? Or does it need that terrarium environment?

I like that Red veined prayer plant. It looks like a perfect spot for my frogs to rest and also has striking colors.

So now its the climbing ficus, the Fern ground cover, the Prayer plant, and the pilea.

Thanks for all the help guys. Especially you noto.

I'll be posting a pic when its all said and done.

I look forward to seeing the pics! I don't know about Alocasia as a houseplant; maybe if you kept the soil very moist.
