Are any of the plants actually planted in the substrate, or are they all attached to driftwood or floaters? I have a reef sand substrate...will I need to add flourite or can I just cram some fertilizer near the roots? Are there any plants that get invasive and you wish you had never put them in your tank?

So, now you all have converted me, I read a few articles about planted tanks. It took two days for the dust to clear in my tank from me adding a sand substrate. Now, I will have to disturb it to put in the plant mix. I am living proof that you really need to plan ahead when setting up a tank.

Bulbs from Petsmart got me interested but the more I learned about the benefits the more I wanted to have a planted tank. My love of large cichlids forced me to wait a while but now I have a planted tank and love it just as much.
