I think it may be a new offset & the "corm" is the crown where both leaves & roots form. I am not sure, I think of them as "eyes" like potatoes LOL.
C. spiralis is not my meltiest crypt, I think I lost 1 leaf per plant when I potted 2 to place in my discus grow up tank. In spite of high temp & frequent water changes they have more leaves per plant than the others...must be the root tabs. Other than diatoms they're quite happy.
