Plants and Bogwood...

I have severall peices of bogwood and I was wondering what is the best way to get plants to grow on them or to get the plants attached to them I love the look of having the plants grow on the wood. Do you think i should drill holes in them and sit the plants in there? or do i go with some fish line and tie them down how exactly does that work.. what should i do hmmm...

Many types of plants simply will not root into wood or rocks. Java Fern and Anubia are two of the exceptions. They will root using the captain's suggestion, but most plants are designed to be planted into the substrate.

I have my anubias nana attached to a piece of wood with some black cotton string. You can barely see it, although my clown loach has tried on several occasions to pull it off of the plant. :p
