Hello everyone i was wondering if anubias and anachris can live and grow in common gravel. Ive had both in my tank for about a month and both have rooted well in the gravel. Also will they eventually need fertilizer? running 1 wpg currently.

Thank You

I have anacharis in my tank; same set up as you. Mine grows very well without any fertilizer.

I have common gravel as well, and I have java ferns, java moss, some crypts, and a ruffled amazon sword. So you should do fine, as long as the plants are hardy and undemanding. That flourite gravel is likely a good investment, but if you can't get it for whatever reason I think that the plants should do well on their own. Liqiud ferts are good once a week or so for a low light tank.

Anubias and anacharis can grow without any gravel. They get nutrients from the water so as long as you have nutrients and water...you're all set. You can plant them both, just be sure NOT to bury the rhizome of the anubias.

As for ferts with that low of light I wouldn't worry about it too much, assuming you are doing large enough water changes, the plants will get most of their ferts for the change water.
