I'm soon to be starting an asian planted biotope tank and was just woundering what kind of plants would work out? The tank is 20 long with two coral life plant bulbs 20 W each. Possibility of C02, but I want plants that can do well without to much of my help. Thanks!

Cryptocorynes, Java fern, Java Moss, Hygros, Water Sprite, Marimo Balls, Aponogetons, Moneywort, Rotala, Wisteria and Dwarf Hairgrass to name a few. :)

Are you sure? because in every video or picture that I have seen so far of asain biotope tanks there are really tall plants that look like Vals, can you tell me what they are? thanks!

I looked up Asian Biotope on Youtube, and you're right, they show vals in the tank. Their tanks are innacurate because Vals are not from Asia, some are found in Europe, but not Asia.

Yep, vals are either from Europe or SA depending on the species...

Are you sure you aren't confusing the vals for onion plants? They look similar but are actually from Thailand...

Those might be it, I was looking at some videos on youtube and the guy said that he had some onion plants in his tank which looked like vals except the leaves were sort of thicker. Thanks for the help!

I have Cryptocoryne crispatula in my Indian biotope, perhaps that is in some of the tanks? Cryptocoryne retrospiralis is another option
