what are the best plants for a sand substrate?

thanks. I was just reading a couple posts about attaching anubias to driftwood?
Does it matter if they are in sand? I'm a little confused about which plants (or should I say "roots") that should be buried vs. those that can be free floating or just "attached" to things.

You can grow the anubias in the sand just don’t bury the rhizome. With plants that are root feeders you will want to add some plant tabs to the sand.

BTW google.com is a great place to find definitions of words much faster than waiting for someone to respond to a post.

while I posted, I did search as well. Some experienced people on AC sometimes have better and easier to understand definitions, thats why I asked.
I will continue to research.....:read:
