I just recieved a shipment from them and before I post about it I want to call them if I can. I was wondering if anyone else has ordered plants from them and if so what was your experience like?

Oh, nevermind... I found some experiences of others:

My order came in a month late, plants were substituted, which is fine... the but the plants they replaced my order with were dead (broken and rotting).

Leaves of the javafern I ordered were rittled with holes, and other plants were yellowed (Sagittaria looked like a bananna peel, with stems and leaves broken from being folded to fit inside the small shipping box). Most of what I recieved was refuse and in meager portions. I'm going to try to call them about it tomorrow (boy, I never thought I'd be one of those people), but in keeping with my experience with them so far, it might take several days to reach them.

Same day I ordered some whiteworms from http://www.skeeterbytes.com/forsale/wworms.htm No responce to emails... the site must be abandoned, but paypal is still up with payment auto-accept apparently. That money is gone too I guess. What a disappointing experience of trying to take my fishkeeping to a higher level.

This is my exact reply from a previous post.

Why am I posting again? Oh, so that more people can see what a horrible experience I had.

I had a similar problem. I ordered some plants, but didn't hear anything for about 3 weeks. I emailed them a number of times and they finally responded after I said that I just wanted my ordered canceled. I told them to just cancel the whole thing. Then I ordered the same plants from another place and got them within the week. A couple of days later, I got a package from floridadriftwood containing the plants I had originally ordered, but canceled. So I checked my credit card and they had charged me after I told them to cancel the order. I wrote a few irate emails and called a couple of times (no one picked up) and left messages. Nothing. I still don't have my money back. So don't order from them. They're just bad news in my opinion.

I tell that story to anyone who will listen. They should be avoided at all cost, there are some much better places to pick up plants online.

I've heard bad things about them as well---but I caution against this type of specific complaining, after reading this about another on-line retailer who everyone complained about.

That was the scary part of that case--there was very little chance that guy could prove it was defamation, since the claims were true. He merely won because he sued people who couldn't afford to pay lawyers to defend themselves against the dozens of accusations he made.

haha, Robert Novak was such an *******. I certainly hope that one guy doesn't inhibit folk's discourse on the net.

If you all paid with a credit card, you can call the company and get them to issue a chargeback and get your money back.

If it's with PayPal, you can try to call them. They have all sorts of buyer protection programs.

Ditto - if it's a credit card charge, call your credit card and tell them you want to dispute the charge. As long as your claim is reasonable (sounds like it is), the credit card company will refund your money and then go after the folks who charged you themselves.

Be careful with PayPal - they can have chargeback fees when filing a dispute that they don't tell you about until after they charge you.
