plants that dont get too tall

Does anyone know of any aquarium plants that don't grow to tall? I want to add more towards the front of my tank and I want short plants that will grow out more than up to cover the surface of the gravel a little more. If that makes any sense. The store I work in has all plants that just grow up. I have heard of some kind of aquarium grass that will spread out more but can't seem to find it anywhere.

look for dwarf sag, pygmy chain sword, dwarf hairgrass.

thanks . I'll try calling around tomorrow and see if anyone else hasit. Not too many fish stores in my area. and our store never gets anything new, same old stuff.

I agree with what has been mentioned...there are smaller anubias species as well but not a great cover.

It really depends on how much lighting you have too. How much light you got and what size tank?

Hygrophila corymbosa kompakt is a nice bushy plant that only grows to five or six inches tall. I also have some cryptocorynes that don't get very tall but I cant remember the latin name.

I wish your Hygrophila corymbosa kompakt would tell my Hygrophila corymbosa kompakt to stop growing at six inches! Mine is giant!

If you have decent lighting you could try pearl grass (Hemianthus micranthemoides). I have good luck with it and it only grows about three inches tall in my tank unless I keep it trimmed.

My lighting is just a 15 watt full spectrum bulb. My tank is a 20g bowfront. right now i just have water wisteria ( which grows out of control, but thats ok) and I have drift wood with a plant in it but not sure of the name.

a groundcover plant with that low of a light might/will be a problem.
