Plants

Does all these plants need heavy lighting? I only the normal lighting currently. I want to add some plants so they can clean up some of the waste on the bottom and also they look great. Also, i do not have a refugium. I am using a HOB skimmer. So i looking for plants in the main tank. Please advice.

Adding plants wont clean up waste off the bottom...If your getting waste settling, i would say you dont have enough flow in the tank...What are you using for flow, powerhead wise and what size tank is it?

What kind of lighting do you have specifically? make? how many watts?

I have 55g tank, Korialla 2 power head, HOB skimmer, canister filter, 30lbs of live rock, live sand. Should i install another power head? Two 15w Hg lights. I really would like to add some plants. I think it would look great.

yes def add another powerhead you want as much flow as possible 10x 15x turnover rate, you dont want any dead spots, and as long as your sand is not stirring up your ok.
also look into a fuge, it makes for a much nicer display tank and allows you to get rid of that can filter

A Refugium is a place were beneficial copepods/amphipods can reproduce without any natural predators, very helpful for some coral/fish that eat them...its also good for nutrient export if you put some chaetomorpha in it(algae), kinda hard to explain but im also a member of Livingreefs.com and this a SW dedicated site and the people there are great, you dont need to have your tank drilled, u could just go with an overflow box that drains to a sump/fuge below your Main display then is returned back into your DT...Try googling DIY REFUGIUM

I made a fuge out of a 10g tank, very easy and cost effective, its where all my equipment will go besides the powerheads...Oh you can even get on youtube and search refugium...hope this helps:)
