I have a 45 tank that I want to get planted, but theres already fish in it so yea. I'll post pics when I get some. I have already put some anacharis and amazon swords with sometype of grassy plant in it. Are these gowing to grow ok or is there something else I should be doing.
And with the fish I have in it am I going to have any problems.

It's hard to know if the plants you've got will grow well without knowing how much/what kind of lighting you have over your 45g.

Anacharis needs 2-3 watts per gallon = 90 watts of fluorescent light for you. "Some type of grassy plant" could be vals or hairgrass or a few other plants. If you don't know the name, some pics would be helpful to id them.

Try telling us how your plants look. Also, you asked about your fish and compatability. Many of them get very big. I'm surpirsed many of the smaller fish have not taken extended vacations from the tank.

The anacharis really don't root well and I'd guess you're going to see them get uprooted or come floating loose with the larger fish you have. I keep mine reasonably secure by planting them in a tight cluster (instead of spread out as single stems like you have) behind another well rooted bushy plant.

With the fish showing in your tank, I think I'd be tempted to get a nice heavy piece of driftwood and use it as a focal point with plants that can be grown directly on it and then pick a secondary smaller focal point to plant some nice sturdy plants that will hold up to rough treatment.
