plastic plant pots

firstly i hope this is the right place to post!
I am wanting to make some home made 'caves' from plant pots and want to if they are safe can only find info on terracotta pots.they are normal every day plastic pots orange on outside and black inside-dont think they are painted look plastic inside.in the uk!

New -Real- terracotta pots are great for a lot of aquarium uses. Don't use any that may have been used with fertilizers or pesticides.

I'm waiting until spring to purchase some at a garden center. I bought a couple a few weeks ago at Walmart only to find - after cutting one open - that they weren't all clay. The inside is some gray to black matrix of something. The terracotta was a surface layer.

I think he means that they are plastic but look like terracotta pots. Yes those are fine to use.

They will need to be weighted to keep from floating though.
