platys sitting in the rocks

Hi i have 5mickey mouse platys. I havent bredd em yet but when i bot them i got free baby platys. I was wondering if its a problem if my female platy lies down on the gravel. She has been doing that when ever she daosent see me looking at her. I was wondering if this a problem. :huh:

Well, did she come from a tank with a lot of male platys? if they are anyting like guppies, the males harass them to an extreme amount, and they (the females) want thenm to go away somewhere else. often they will sit on the gravel so the males can't come up from below them, so it's like sitting down on the gravel helps to protect her from the hims. Perhaps she got used to doing this and habits are hard to break? Perhaps if you throw in some plants she will feel safer and not do that anymore.

the platy ran tinto my heater and broke the theater this is the 1 foot long one.

electic shock caused him to net sit qaround anymore he is flying with shocking speed now.
