Play sand...

I use play sand in alot of aquariums. Just make sure to rinse it well. I did ruin one filter by not rinsing the sand long enough. But, if you are careful, then you shouldn't have any problems.

For planted tanks could you use Pool sand alone or should you mix in other substrate?
