Play Sand ?

Howdy,

I'm setting up a new tank and was planning on using Playsand- I know the aragonite playsand (the Southdown/Oldcastle) is best, but can I use any sterilized white sand if I can't get the good stuff for cheap?

Go to Home Depot..."building materials" dept.

Look for Quickcrete Med. white sand.

It's $3 for a 50lb bag. That's what I use...and it works great.

Does that sand look white when it gets wet? the play sand from Quickcrete seemed to get brown and not stay white.
