You are not alone.12Voltking said:we were infact told that the gobies were well suited to freshwater. If we had've known we would not've purchased them.
As for being told to read the sticky thread...well, why didn't you send me an email when I first mentioned to my wife that I will get the family the fishtank that they have wanted? Geez. slow on the uptake eh?
They are out there.
Fish employees.
Just waiting.
To sell you something.
And get you out of the store.
Then they can daydream.
About that cute girl/boy.
That sits in class with them.
Seriously, I bought my first tank in August of this year. It was for my son -- a 20g tank. The store sold us two silver dollars and 2 tiger barbs with the tank. We were lucky in that they had Bio Spira and pushed us into buying it, so we did. We did not lose fish and everything cycled well, even though we did not know what a cycle was and didn't even find out until 2 months later.
The fish, heh, silver dollars need at least 50 gallons and the tiger barbs are viscious little twerps who nip anything if they are not in a large school of 6 or more.
Let's just say that the dollars can barely turn around in the tank now and constantly smack into the sides when they are startled. The barbs were taken back to the store. We are picking up a 65 gallon for the dollars this Saturday.
My point? Yah, we've all been there. YOU, however, are lucky and smart. You were smart enough to seek us out for your second foray and let us help you avoid all the previous problems.
Take all advice from LFS or LPS with a grain of salt, then chuck the grain.

PS
Nursie, how are the new rainbows in QT doing? Are you getting anymore?
I just ordered 6 more Boes, 6 Gertrudae (for the 10g as they only get about 1") and a half dozen Goo obos from a breeder. They'll be here tomorrow! I'm so excited!
