55 Gallon, Freshwater, Planted, 2Whisper 60 filters,

I have had this tank for over a year.

There are:

10 Rasboras
3 Zebre Loaches
1 Pearl Guorami
1 German Ram
3 otto cats

My problem... Fish are dying!!! Two months ago I had 2 pearl gouramis a dwarf gourami and clown pleco...

I have not changed anything in terms of cleaning, food, temp etc...

The dwarf guorami and clown pleco were from my original "batch" of fish over 12 months ago. The pearls were added three months later.

I change the water in the tank every or every other week. I usually intend to change it every week but sometime its every other. I t est the water once a month and have not noticed any changes that would be alarming.

I have now removed my pearl guorami from my main tank to the 10 gal i use as a snail/med tank ( I maintain this tank at the same temp as the main tank). The pearl has not eaten in two days and is refusing food. His right eye is not popping out but appears "whitish" and swollen at the edges.

I am treating the tank with a basic "fish med" that was recommended by the vet. I am concerned and am wondering if anyone can privide any insight into what may be going in my tank.

Thanks for reading the novel and please let me know if there is any information that I can provide to make diagnosis more easy... and sorry guys but I am tired and am not going to spell check this.

Thanks,

Mark

Roan

Roan, please check the link... I have tried several times and keeping getting a "cant find server message"

Update: the gourami is still not eating. He is not swimming much either. Most of the time he just hangs out near the heater in tha tank. If I approach he swims behind one of the plants and hides.

How long can I fish live without eating?

Link works fine for me. Try typing it in instead of clicking on it.

There's an underscore between fish_diseases. It's hard to see with the link.

Healthy fish can live a week without food easy. Sick fish, hard to say but I'd not worry until the 3rd day <-- opinion only.

Update

ok, my guorami has been eating the past tow days... I have no idea what has caused the change... but I am happy for it.

So... When do you re-ad a fish to the community tank after it has "gotten better" I am not thinking he is "better just yet but feel that he is atleast on his way

Thanks guys
