Please help ID this algae eater

both of the fish on the glass in the original post are CAEs
Not both of them....at least one is an SAE.
Even though they both got the solid ragged stripe like a SAE? I am not sure any of them is a CAE any more. Sometimes the one in front has the disconnected squares of a CAE, and sometimes it looks solid ragged.
Yep, exactly.

neither one of those fish are SAEs. the head shape is wrong. SAEs don't have a sucker mouth and they have clean back stripes not jagged. I really don't get how people can get the two confused, the head shapes are different and the patterns are different.

Duckie if you compare the fish in your op and the SAE in post #11 (your post) you will see the difference. different mouth, different pattern, different dorsal fin shape. also the black stripe goes thru the tail fin on a SAE and it doesn't on a CAE.

Thank you, I should have went with my gut feeling in first post when I still thought them to be both CAE. Not really worried what the two big ones are - they get along together just fine, usually resting together and sometimes swim and eat together. The little loach is who needs company. The last couple days at least he started not to hide all the time.
