So, today THIS appeared, clinging to the wall of my 10 gallon white cloud/RCS tank. For comparison, the thing on the right is a duckweed root.

When I touched it, it moved slightly and swam back to the glass. Anybody know what it is? Its terrible grim-reaperish skull face frightens and confuses me. The fact that I just saw Drag Me to Hell isn't helping things, either.

it is a Fry

most likely a white cloud fry, is that all that is in the tank or do you have other fish?

I have no idea what that it, but your post is HILARIOUS

Interestingly, the other day I unplugged the heater and moved the lights up on legs so now the tank gets down to 72 deg. F at night - I wonder if that precipitated spawning? Or is this fry too old for that to have been the cause?

it is possable. do you have a smaller tank or a breeder net/set up?

Nope, wife won't let me add any more tanks, ha ha. Maybe I could sneak a 2.5 or 5 gal into the guest room when she's not looking? It's gone now, if I find more should I try to separate them?

it looks really young to me since its not really free-swimming yet remove it and raise it seperate and good luck >_0
