Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me identify these snails. My girlfriend purchased them at the pet store without reading the info. I just want to make sure they're not going to get huge, devour the plants, and also figure out what they eat. The photos are not great, but they should do the trick. Thanks.

This was the first image posting site I found on Google. If someone has a better one, please let me know.

yes i would also say apple snail, and your plants will be safe. they will only eat decaying plant matter.

looks like an ivory pomacea bridgesii (in the first pic anyway, i didn't load the others as I have dial-up)...very cute! And yes they are plant safe (healthy plants). They need to be fed a calcium rich diet (either through vegetables, or with supplemented food) to maintain healthy shell growth. Please ask if you have any other questions. They are a wonderful addition to a tank.

I went to the pet store. They're Ivory Apple Snails. Will they eat dried brine shrimp?

I'm pretty new to this. I want to raise a couple of ADFs. With the three snails, would 2 frogs be too much load?

It's a 9 gallon tank.

Thanks again.

I would feed them some veggies or at least algae wafers. Typically, you want about 2.5 gallons per full grown snail. Adf's could be added with no problems i think.
