I purchased an albino pleco from Petsmart around a month ago. He’s maybe 3.5 inches. I need to know if it’s a bristlenose pleco or another species so I can properly rehome it before he gets too large. Very young so if it’s a bristlenose there’s no bristles yet. I have it in a 55 gallon with adequate hiding places like large hollow driftwood.image.jpg

I'm afraid that is a Pterygoplichthys, so a big pleco that get to 1 to 2 feet in length. 3,5" isn't really young for a bristlenose...

I'm afraid of that too, tl...but still hoping it's a smaller species ;) I don't know I've seen albinos of the really big plecos...but likely there are ;(...it was just a matter of time...If they can be bred they will be...

Awe well I’ll watch it and if it gets much bigger I’ll get it a better home and make sure to get an albino bristlenose. Really love that pleco lol. Imo one of the prettiest fish I have even over 2 gourami and a rainbow shark

It could be an albino BN, I just can't tell...it could also be something that grows very much larger...I hope not! At only 3.5 inches it's hard to say...fingers crossed it's a BN! So far, so small?

It looks more like a sailfin pleco to me, but I've never had one so take what I say with a grain of salt.

It’s pretty confident and comes out during the day when I’m not around and usually has it’s fins flares out unless it’s hiding if that’s helps.
