Please Help me ID this fish

Hi,

I picked up two fish from LFS, told they were a pair of Apistos:


The upper fish is the "female"

The bottom fish is the supposed male--it had a very orange coloration in the store and in the bag turned a much more drab color....

Definately Apistos not sure of sex.

They didn't like to you and I can't sex them either. Need a better photo. Check the ventral fins and males should be longer, but that is not guaranteed.

TBH they don't look like the same species to me. The yellow one on the bottom is definitely a female, but it looks like an agassizii. The other one, I'm not sure of sex, or even what it is, maybe laetacara curviceps?

I would lean too either young agazi or borelli

I'm seeing either agassizii or borelli but we need a better pic to be sure....I also thought cartei but probably not.
