I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to add a fuge o my system and if so, how I am going to do it. I'm just starting my research now, the tank is only a month old and I wont be adding my first corals for another month or so. Right now I've just got a simple 10g sump under my main tank that houses my skimmer, heater and thermometer.

1.) Should I replace the sump with the fuge or combine the two?
2.) If I combine the two, how do I keep enough flow for proper filtration but not too much for the fuge?
3.)How much flow is too much through the fuge?

you could add a fuge connected to the sump.

I went with the fuge no sump..there is a thread somewhere where a guy set up a large tank , designed a sump connected to a fuge
it looked like the drain branced and fed the sump and the fuge at the same time water flowed from the fuge into the return portion of the sump. the fuge was higher then the sump and there was a spillway on the uge to the return on the sump.

not sure how that all turned out but it looked great.

I think I'm goin to convert my sump into a fuge and make a closed loop system with a SCWD to maintain flow in the tank.
