Hi, i was just wondering if anyone could help. I have just got a UGF filter for my 2 fish, and i realise i have got to maintain it. However i have read that you can't switch the filter off. So could anyone tell me the best way to clean the gravel, UGF and underneath in the most effective way? Thanks alot.xx

that was a really useful article thanks, but im still not sure whether or not i can switch the UGF off for short period of time?thanks

Yes you can.

Take the UGF out is the best way. They are more trouble then they are worth.

Actually this is not at all the Case. UGF's are an excellent format, that will do a lot to help and enhance your tank. Anyone who has used and maintained them knows this even if they do not chose to use them in current set-ups. We've had the debate a million times, and UGF still stands as a great filter in a hobby with a lot of great options.
