please i.d. these cichlids

the fist one could be a chipokee they and the auratus look very simalar exept for the tail. Does the tail have a none changing pattern (M. Chipokee) or is it split from middle, left to right and have too patterns (M. Auratus)

i'm guessing that they are fuellborni's i have one they sold it to me as a convict!

The first one is definately not a chipokae. The males actually look quite different... its the females that are similar. That ID is good for the females/juvies of the species. If the tail has white w/ spots on the top its an auratus, if it looks the same on the top and bottom its chipokae. But this guy definately looks like an auratus. Plus chipokae are not as common.

As for aggressiveness its different for all fish. Sometimes everyone will get along fine. Sometimes out of the blue one day you'll have dead fish due to aggression. Sometimes they wont get along from the start... so you really need to watch your fish. But sometimes there are combos that just spell disaster... like your friend's setup. Not only is it cruel to keep all those fish crammed together (especially the frontosa, who are open-water fish and love space), but eventually they will kill each other off.

my friend told me D was a female of fish E.

LuvMyKribs, i agree my friends setup is cruel, but he will not listen to me. So thats why i decided to take some of the fish off his hands. The only problem im having in my tank now is the 2 male aurtas have staked out 2 different sides of the tank, but the female gets harassed no matter what side she is on. Im not really sure what to do about it, ive tried adding more things to cut their sight down but im afraid it doesnt appear to be helping. but other than that all the other fish get along. Maybe ill try to sell the aurtas and get a few of the other fish.

Im probably wrong on this but isnt Pic (A) an Mbuna? Melanochromis auratus.

Ooops didnt read all the through Malawi girls post, she covered it,
