Hi. Recently I noticed something that resembles a snail moving across the glass of my tank. It resembles a small clear pond/apple/mystery (not sure which ones I have) snail, but it is almost flat and doesn't seem to have a shell. Does anybody know what it might be? I'd post a picture, but I doubt it would help as it is very small, almost clear, and resembles a snail. Thanks.

if it looks like a cinamon bun then its probrably a ramshorn snail. they don't eat plants as much as other snails.

Those are red, I have one of those. What I'm describing is clear, except for its organs, and much more flat than ramshorns. When looked at from its side it looks like a small water drop on the glass. Thanks anyway.

How big is the snail? I found something similar to what you described in one of my tanks. What i found was flat, and seemed to be a tiny (around 1/4 inch) snail with a shell that looked like half a mussel shell, and it also happened to be clear.

Mine is about 5 mm. That does sound very similar to what I have. I'll try to post a picture... Thanks.

Whups... sorry for the dead links... Hope your lead turns out to be limpets though. They are often a sign of really good water quality.
