I hate to be the nasty one, but I'll give it a 5 at best.
Water changes do not hurt your cycle, and do help your fish. large volume water changes are no exception to that situation.
Bacteria starter colonies and chemicals are far different items. Bacteria starter colonies are very helpful and useful, and are the same bacteria you will grow with the long route.
chemicals and several snake oil products are a different situation entirely and should be avoided.
To reccomend fishy cycling without daily testing and water changes is irresponsible at best. 0.25 ppm ammonia will cause permanent damage. 0.25 ppm nitrite will cause permanent damage. 3 fish in a 10 g will put you way over that number in a week.
The claim that it takes 8 months to cycle anything is preposterous. 6 weeks on the outside unless you do something directly to stall the cycle. even with most chemical pollutants in play you couldn't stall the cycle for 8 months.
Not a very impressive article IMO or IME. Too many incorrect statements and several items that would be detrimental to the fish and frustrate the fish keeper.
Here is an excellent cycling article that is pretty accurate on all points if you want to review it.
