Please tell me my goby is ok

My wife has just sent me a pic of my watchman as he has started living in a cave at the front of the tank but I'm a litte worried about his mouth. He is eating fine and is swimming around well but he didn't have the white bit when I first got him:

Does he keep it that wide all the time? My goby can open his mouth really wide when he feels threaten in his cave. It looks like a long yawn when he does it.

I dont know, I'm away at the moment and dont get home till tuesday night, He does dig alot. Its actually a some sort of growth under his mouth

it seems that there have been several pics posted on here with yellow watchman's with similar open mouth problems... seems like some sort of infection that looks very bad to me...

I'm not sure what to do about it, he was feeding at the time, his mouth isn't open all the time like that.
