if you use the tank substrate bed a beast, please go through it and sift it out. Im on another forum and people have found glass, wires, paper and a lot of other things in there and have posted pictures with it:angryfire: I suggest eco-earth if you are looking for something like it.

Or if you want to be cheaper, go ahead to home depot and buy a big bag of cypress mulch. There are so many ways to cut costs in the reptile world, why spend $5-$10 for a small bag when you can get $3 for a large bag.
 
I say just don't use it! It's not worth the risk of hurting a frog or another animal.

I complained 2 yrs ago to ESU about their Jungle mix/earth having sharp wooden splinters even though they advertise it only moss and soil. I found it dangerous
Than tried bed a beast and didnt like it either as like you found debris have used eco earth for over a year now like it a lot. Not to mention you get a lot of substrate in those blocks .

couldnt cyprus mulch have splinters or overall hard sharp pieces?

Home depot does have nice bags of moss real moss but cyprus mulch I wouldnt trust
 
weird, we use about a block of it every 2 weeks for work and have never found anything in it. wonder if this is just recent or we're getting lucky.
