im kinda new to this aquarium thing. right now i have a lightly planted 10g with just a betta. i wanna get a pleco but keep reading some get huge and i dont want something thats gonna outgrow my 10. any recommendations?

A ten is pretty small for any species of pleco. Even a clown or bristlenose might be a little big for your tank. If you're after a clean up crew, add a snail. If you'd like to keep a pleco, move up to a 20 and look at some of the small breeds. If you've just got to get one, get ONE bristlenose.

Stay away from common plecos, those are the ones that hit twenty inches or more. Most plecos place a larger than normal bioload on a tank. They do requre feeding, and don't just live on algae alone. Depending on the species you're looking at, they can be vegitarian, omnivore, or even meat eaters. Check out plecofanatics, or planet catfish for a full list of plecos availiable. They are awesome fish, and you may wind up getting a bigger tank so you can house an exotic.
