Pleco ID

pophead,

Right now this pleco is in a 55 gallon tank and I have every intention of finding him a new home that is more suited to his potential size very soon. I guess what my question really is, is should I just give it away to a friend or do I have something that may be tradeable for possibly a smaller pleco and more. Also, another question has come to mind and that is can a smaller pleco such as a brislecone do an effective job at controlling alge growth in my 55 gallon tank. I can tell you that I have one bristlecone in a 10 gallon tank right now and I am having to alot of growth on the glass. (I realize that I can clean this myself and I do). The pleco in the picture (again, sorry for the low quality) is doing an amazing job at keeping my larger tank clean and I have not had to scrape any glass as of yet.

I am still working on a better picture! Thanks for all the help!

Im sure he'll be fine in a 55gallon for now... i have a pleco in my 70gallon, and he'll continue to be fine in there for afew more years when i upgrade to a 100+gallon...

My first thought was a Leopard Plec, but could be a Sailfin also.
