I just cycled a new 20-gallon brackish tank and it's been over a couple of weeks now and my tank is covered in algae. I've been looking for a brackish fish that eats algae, but can't find one! I have a 3-4 in. common pleco in a different tank and was wondering if i could reduce the salinity content of the brackish tank and throw him in their for a few days until the algae is gone and i find a brackish algae eater. Their is two small GSP's and two Monos. Does anyone think he will last? Will the environment be to stressful for him? Does anyone know of a brackish algae eater?

A 20 is too small for one GSP, or any Mono. You need a much larger tank for those fish.\

Plecos do not belong in BW, or SW, which both the GSPs and the Monos will need as they mauture.

The monos i have are babies---maybe about 3/4" to about 1". My GSP's are around an inch long, so when all of them mature, I'll definetly upgrade the tank a little.
