Pleco L144

Another issue is people keeping the albinos and browns in the same tank and hybridizing. I wouldn't be astounded, to see a paisley albino one of these days.
Albino and brown are the same species, so are calico and fire red for that matter. A hybrid is a cross between different species, not a selectively bred color variant.
All my albino fry came from my breeding trio of browns, and their brown offspring that have grown out and are now spawning are also producing some albino fry.

The pale colored ones with the red eyes are the albino version, they can be found in an LFS. The yellow black/blue eyes ones are the L144's that I breed and unfortunately you will not find them available in any LFS, they are a much rarer bristlenose. I have some young ones, about 5 weeks old here in these pictures. I breed the long fins but they always throw some short fins in every batch. The short fins are by far the deepest yellow in color, getting more and more so as they get older. The shades of yellow in the long fins are a bit more variable. The adult male longfins have a deeper yellow coloring than most of the females.
