Pleco Mouth Growth....help?

Sorry you lost him bio. Looks like perhaps some sort of infection set it. It may even been due to him not being able to move. He was stuck in there just a little too long unfortunately. They do sometimes get into goofy places.

Sorry to hear of the loss. You should continue on without him using one of his offspring. At this point, I don't think it to be a disease rather a result of having been in the output tube too long.

Sorry Bio. :( I'm also of the opinion that it was some type of injury/infection from being stuck. No way to know though.

Yeah, I am wondering if he got his mouth caught in the inside edge somehow. That would explain why he couldn't get out (he had plenty of room otherwise), and why his mouth got infected (probably ripped it up trying to free himself, couldn't eat, and then got an infection). I might try to contact TTA to replace him, as I would rather go that route than inbreed (which would probably throw me only albinos, and I like variety). The trick with TTA, of course, is finding a way to contact him, LOL!
