Pleco or Pl*co?

Why is it just with the pl*co then???? I have to say I have written it several times and mine is still living, I did wonder why people would type it that way I hadn't heard of this superstition

So now that I typed Pleco does that mean someone else's pleco will die since I don't have one? Or does that mean that that since I am debating to put a pleco in my piranha tank that the pleco might die if I do? Weird......... pleco.
