Hi fellow aquarists,

I have a few ~3" teenager Albino Bristlenose pleco. One of them have something from anus, and it's definitely NOT feces. I am not sure if it's parasite?

It seems to still eat normally, and Other pleco seem OK.

One fancy guppy in the same tank died a few weeks ago and might have had the same "parasite".

Thank you. You all stay safe!

Unfortunately, that is Camallanus. It can be treated with an anthelmintic, either one of those is fine, the problem is getting them w/o a prescription depending on the state.

He is a life-long fish keeper as well. I have a fish med kit I keep stocked at all times. It contains levamisole HCL and Flubendazole both of which I have due to Dr. Harrison.

Update: Bought levamisole online. Treated all tanks with 6ppm. GREAT results. No more worms found. Will treat again in 2 weeks.

You guys are great! Cheers and stay safe, everyone.

Glad to see it all appears to have worked out well for you. Glad if I helped in anyway.
