when i feed my pleco the algea pellet the other fish get it and chase it around the tank especialy my columian sharks the other night the shark ate the whole this his gut was pretty full but hes fien today andy ideas on feeding my pleco without the other fish eating it on him

feed zucchini - i doubt that the sharks would take interest in it, and your pleco can munch on it all night to his heart's content. cut a small one in half down the middle, and boil it for 30 seconds or so, then weight it down and put it in the bottom of the tank. if the pleco isn't interested, you can boil the water with a clove of garlic in it (leave it in the whole time), it's an appetite stimulant. put it in when you turn off the lights, take it out of the tank the next afternoon.
Could'nt have said it better myself... Also try half a cob of corn, skinless peas, yellow squash, watermelon rind, carrot... find out what your pleco likes in veggies. Just always poach a little in boiling water to soften it up a tiny bit, and kill any fungus present on the veg. 30 seconds at least. And garlic is a superb appetite stimulant. Some sinking algae frozen pellets now come with garlic essence to make them irresistable to plecos. Feed em right and your pleco will love you for it!

Well said TorturedSoul. Advice I always give to those who have a pleco is to remove any stringy plants and only keep larger leafy plants (whether plastic or planted). They love to poo on plants and leafier plants are easier to clean.
no. most fish don't do well with fruit. one exception is goldfish, but it still shouldnt be fed regularly. also, the high amount of sugars can cause a growth spurt in bad bacteria and make your water cloudy very quickly.
